Two of the 2021-22 leadership changes announced today by Rocky View Schools (RVS) will impact the Glenbow School.
It also saw the announcement of principals for the division s first standalone online schools.
Jason Billings has been named principal at Glenbow Elementary School.
Principal of R.J. Hawkey Elementary School in Airdrie since 2018, Billings joined RVS in 2016 after serving as a principal, assistant principal, and teacher with Peel School Board in Ontario since 2005. He also served as a teacher and team leader in Seoul, South Korea from 2003-2005 and a math and science teacher for the Calgary Board of Education from 1999-2002.
Paula said: He was a great believer that things could be changed. That s what motivated him. If a young person had a barrier there, you can always find a way around it. Kevin was a great believer in that. The beauty about Kevin was he always kept his feet on the ground. He was a people person. He never forgot his roots. He always fought for what he believed in. He loved Newham. He committed his life to it. We re so proud of him. He s going to be missed like mad.
David Robinson, who co-founded Community Links, said Mr Jenkins was deeply loved by many people, more than might ever be known.

There are fewer traffic incidents to report Wednesday, but roads remain slick in places as temperatures stay well below -20 C in Calgary.
The polar vortex continues to hang over the prairies, and temperatures are forecast to remain below -20 C until Sunday when they are expected to climb all the way to – 11 C.

An extreme cold warning remains in effect for the entire province, although Environment Canada says there may be some moderation in temperature during daylight hours. Wind chill could make it feel like -40 C to -55 C.
Tschetter Colony School All Foothills School Division schools, including those in Okotoks and High River, will be open Wednesday but all in-town and rural school bus routes have been cancelled. Chinook s Edge School Division, which serves the greater Red Deer region as well as communities south of Red Deer, has extended its school closures. For the third consecutive day, classes have been cancelled at all 40 of its schools.
