Shimla, Apr 23(UNI) As many as 234 persons who were stranded on snowbound Manali-Leh highway for last
many days were rescued by a joint team of Border Road Organisation, Himachal Pradesh Police and District Administration.
Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said in a press statement issued that in the morning of Apr 20
traffic movement was resumed across Baralacha Pass.
A team of 30 police personnel led by Superintendent of Police, Manav Verma were deputed on duty on the 50
km stretch from Darcha (Point 144) across Baralacha Pass upto Point 194, to oversee both smooth and
safe movement of traffic especially trucks carrying essential supplies to Leh-Ladakh. ....

Manali (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 26 (ANI): The Atal Tunnel in Rohtang will remain closed today from 11 am to 12 pm for the maintenance work, said the Lahaul Spiti Police.
The South Portal (SP) of Atal Tunnel is located at a distance of 25 km from Manali at an altitude of 3,060 metres, while the North Portal (NP) of the tunnel is located near village Teling, Sissu, in Lahaul Valley at an altitude of 3,071 metres.
The 9.02 km long tunnel, the longest highway tunnel in the world connects Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the year. ....
