Sister Jean Headed Back to NCAA Tournament (VIDEO)

A limited number of fans will be allowed at the games for March Madness. But one of college basketball s most devout and divine fans doesn t plan on missing her team in action. 
Sister Jean will be there when the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers take the court on Friday. She became quite a celebrity in 2018 during the school s Final Four run. She says she lobbied the school to allow her to go this year. She had plenty of offers from people willing to help.  
One alum wrote and told me that her husband was willing to drive me town, Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt said. Somebody else told me she was going to sneak me on to the university. And another couple said that they thought they would like to kidnap me and Loyola would have to search for me. ....

Loyola to return to in-person learning for 2021 fall semester

Loyola University Maryland is preparing for a fully in-person experience for the fall 2021 semester with a full range of classes, athletics and other in-person events and experiences, the university announced Wednesday.|| Coronavirus updates | Maryland s latest numbers | Get tested | Vaccine Info || Thanks to the promise of greater availability of vaccines and expected progress toward herd immunity, we are planning actively for an in-person, on-campus and exhilarating fall 2021, the Rev. Brian F. Linnane, president of the university, said in a statement. Although we expect we may still be wearing masks, we are hopeful that social distancing will be less of a concern. The university announced it will have secondary plans in place in case additional steps are needed to continue to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, such as allowing for extra space in classrooms. COVID-19 testing will still continue to some degree, and isolation space ....

You may have heard that a somewhat important college basketball tournament starts this week. And our crack research staff here at The Champaign Room has informed me that the Illinois Fighting Illini are actually partcipating in it! How neat!
Illinois (23-6) garnered a No. 1 seed in the “Midwest” region and will face 16-seed Drexel on Friday afternoon. We don’t expect much resistance from the Dragons (unless they bring out an ACTUAL dragon), but there are several other teams worth keeping an eye on. Let’s meet ‘em. ....
