Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday interacted with 300 armed forces veterans in Leh and reiterated the Central government’s commitment towards the welfare of the ex-servicemen.
The veterans included Ashok Chakra winner Naib Subedar (Honorary) Chhering Mutup (Retd) and Maha Vir Chakra winner Colonel Sonam Wangchuk (Retd).
Lauding the unparalleled dedication of the veterans in ensuring the safety and security of the nation, the defence minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to roll out ‘One Rank One Pension’ scheme, ending a decades-long wait, was a testimony to the government’s unwavering commitment towards the welfare and satisfaction of the veterans. ....

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday will inaugurate 63 infrastructure projects constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) from Ladakh. Singh is currently in Leh for a three-day visit to Ladakh. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate 63 infra projects constructed by BRO from Ladakh at 10.00 am today, tweeted the Defence Ministry.
The Minister is also scheduled to attend a program organised by the local administration in Leh between 2 pm to 4 pm, and will later interact with Army troops in Leh at 7 pm. ....
