Residents off Saltash Road in Thornton want Wyre and Lancashire County Councils to help resolve the fly-tipping and potholes in the area. Pictured is Isaac Anderton, 10.
This week the roads have been sold at auction by the Duchy of Lancaster and Coun Kay is appealing to whoever bought it to get in touch to help solve the problems.
She said “We think they were sold for just £11 plus £500 costs. We would love the new owner to come forward and help us.
“What we need is bollards installing in the alleyway to stop trucks driving down and tipping and for the owner to get a digger in to flatten out the road to deal with the dangerous potholes there.
ISOLATION for people from tier 4 areas visiting East Lancashire differs between council districts. On Monday, the Director for public health for Blackburn with Darwen, Dominic Harrison told BBC Lancashire that anyone who had travelled from a Tier 4 area since last Wednesday should self-isolate for at least five days. Lancashire County Council however have not asked people from tier 4 areas to self isolate but instead requested that they follow the guidance of their tier, while in Greater Manchester, councils are advocating a 10 day isolation period for those coming from tier 4 areas. Lancashire County Councils director for public health, Dr Sakthi Karunanithi said: This new variant has really cropped up in different times in different areas of the country.
