In a bizarre incident in Karnataka s Bilinele village, a dog found itself trapped with a leopard inside the toilet for at least 7 hours. The two animals were found inside the toilet by a local resident who quickly bolted them in.
According to the police, the dog probably wanted to escape the leopard and tried to hide inside the toiled, however, the leopard managed to follow it inside. The lady of the house entered the toilet and saw the animal’s tail. She immediately locked the door and called her neighbours, Dakshina Kannada SP BM Laxmi Prasad said as quoted by The News Minute. ....

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 19: The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill-2020 has been implemented in the state. The officials should create awareness about the Act and take stringent measures to prevent its violation,” said minister for animal husbandry, Haj & Wakf Prabhu Chauhan.
The minister addressed two of the progress review meetings of animal husbandry, Haj and Wakf department held at both Mangaluru and Udupi deputy commissioner s office on Tuesday, January 19.
Speaking at the meeting, the minister informed that state government has proposed to have two goshalas in each taluk across the state to protect cattle from slaughter. ....

SDPI members booked for raising 'pro-Pak slogans' in Ujire | Mangaluru News

MANGALURU: The Dakshina Kannada district police have booked about 10-15 SDPI party members for pro-Pakistan slogans outside a gram panchayat poll counting centre in Ujire, on Wednesday.
The 54-second video clip where SDPI party members are allegedly seen shouting pro-Pakistan (Pakistan Zindabad) has since gone viral drawing criticism.
B M Laxmi Prasad, superintendent of police, Dakshina Kannada said that based on the alleged video clip, they have booked about 10-15 SDPI party members. A case is registered at Belthangady police station under Indian Penal Code 143,124A r/w 149. “The investigation and search for the accused is on,” said Laxmi Prasad. ....
