Wicked Local BEVERLY Three buildings in downtown Beverly near the MBTA depot are coming down, and a new housing complex with retail space and underground parking will rise in their place. Demolition of the former Hotel Trafton and Press Box at 9 Park St. took place May 11-12, with the former Enterprise Rent-A-Car space at 136 Rantoul St. and the former Sullivan Chiropractic & Rehabilitation center at 142 Rantoul St. scheduled to be demolished later in the week. The area where the buildings sat will be rebuilt via the Depot II Project. Having been in the works for a number of years, the project stalled briefly back in 2019 when Beverly’s Historic District Commission approved a one-year demolition delay for the Casa de Lucca building at 146-148 Rantoul St.
