The time between December and March is generally peak fishing season. April was still a good time to fish in Mumbai, though Koli fishers were now anxious about getting good catches on the few fishing days that remained before the monsoon arrived. The water was a beautiful green-blue and very calm. Sakre wasn’t happy seeing it like this. “The water has changed,” Sakre told me when I asked him what he thought of his prospects that day. He has been slapped with an attempt to murder charge after a video of him deliberately knocking down a motorcyclist surfaced on social media. The accused has been identified as Salman Sayyed, a resident of Rafiq Nagar. He has been arrested for hitting the two-wheeler belonging to Kishor Kashinath Kardak (42), a resident of Ghatkopar. The incident took place at Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road on December 17 but the footage of the road rage surfaced only today. ....

Representative Image MUMBAI: A 19-year-old Govandi youth was injured after three robbers slashed him with a razor blade and robbed him in a running CSMT-bound train at Cotton Green on Wednesday afternoon. Mushtaq Kaif Haq later registered a complaint with Wadala GRP. Police are yet to track down the robbers. Haq is a wholesale mask dealer and lives at Rafiq Nagar. He travels between Kurla and Masjid frequently for work. He was in a CSMT-bound local luggage compartment headed to Masjid on Wednesday. Between 12.50pm and 1pm, before the train was to halt at Cotton Green station, the three men in the coach approached him. One of them pulled out a razor blade and slashed Haq on his arm. They then assaulted him, before snatching his phone and wallet, and got off the train. ....
