SCIB secures EPCC contract worth RM135mil


(SCIB), has clinched a RM135 million engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract.
SCIB said the letter of award (LOA) from Puncak Gemilang Melati Sdn Bhd was for Phase 1 of the proposed Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme (PPAM) in Muallim, Perak.
The 26-month contract would run from April 1, 2021, to June 1, 2023, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
The scope of the LOA includes overall earthwork, infrastructure and building as well as mechanical and engineering works and ancillary works.
Any profits attributable to the group would be realised in stages over the tenure of the contracts based on the progress of the projects, it said. ....

SCIB has ambitious plan for 2021


(SCIB), which had recently become a billion ringgit market capitalisation company, is aiming to double its size in the next 12 months.
The construction outfit, which is controlled by Datuk Mohd Karim Abdullah, (pic) is eyeing to take up bigger roles that include bidding for bigger infrastructure projects, embarking on mergers and acquisitions (M&As), as well as becoming project owners.
Karim acknowledged that while the Covid-19 pandemic posed challenges to the construction sector, he is confident SCIB would be able to achieve 20% to 30% revenue and profit growth this year compared with 2020. This will be driven by its strong order book and new technology adoption that will improve its profit margins. ....
