Illinois Democrats doled out $2.8 million in federal coronavirus relief money on everything from flood relief to violence prevention programs. Republicans say they were shut out of the process and that the money's being distributed with few specifics.
New pedestrian bridge in Rosemont opening Saturday

Rosemont and Cook County officials will formally open a new pedestrian bridge Saturday linking the village s entertainment district with the nearby forest preserve trails.
The 12-foot-wide bridge over the Des Plaines River gives Rosemont residents and visitors direct bike and pedestrian access to the Parkway Bank Park entertainment district as well as the trail system beginning at Catherine Chevalier Woods.
The $1.3 million project was funded by the state and Rosemont.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the bridge, located near West Bryn Mawr Avenue, east of North River Road. Free parking is available on the south side of Bryn Mawr.
