ROSEBURG, Ore. Officials with Roseburg Public Schools report that a positive COVID-19 case has been identified at Fir Grove Elementary School in Roseburg.
Officials say individuals who need to quarantine have been contacted and are at home self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms.
They haven t reported whether it was student or staff.
Students who are in quarantine will transition temporarily to remote learning. ....

ROSEBURG, Ore. The debate surrounding the Roseburg High School Indians mascot continues.
On Monday, the Roseburg school board opened an online forum that asks if the Roseburg Indians mascot should be respectfully retired. The forum is currently open to the entire community.
A 2016 Roseburg High alumni, Kalli Albertus, told KEZI 9 News that the school board’s decision to collect feedback was a long time coming. Since last year, she has been working with a group of alumni to get the mascot’s name changed. ....

ROSEBURG, Ore. Elementary students in Roseburg Public Schools are officially back in the classroom.
District officials said they were able to return pre-kindergarten through fifth grade to in-person learning based on the recent school metrics released by the state.
They said the county only has to be under 350 cases per 100,000 people in order to bring elementary-age students back. ....
