Dy calls out Amir: I can give you a real fight

Published April 19, 2021, 6:28 PM Rolando Dy and Ahmed Amir (BRAVE CF) Filipino fighter Rolando Dy has challenged Egyptian contender Ahmed Amir for his next fight in BRAVE Combat Federation. Dy, the son of Filipino boxing legend Rolando Navarrete, did not take Amir’s past action well as the Egyptian, who was supposed to fight lightweight world champion Amin Ayoub, was sidelined due to injuries. But Amir surprisingly made an appearance at the cageside and exchanged a heated conversation with Ayoub, who scored a unanimous decision win over Mashrabjon Ruziboev in BRAVE CF 50 last April 1. “I called out Amir on social media because he is acting like a clown. In my opinion, he doesn’t deserve the title shot, yet it was given to him. I respect that, but the thing is that he backed out in his fight for the title. Then he showed up at the event, acting tough and acting like the champ,” said Dy.

Losing their last outings, the Filipino bets are motivated to avenge themselves for Brave Combat Federation s next events, with the earliest coming at Brave CF 51 at Falcon Club Arena in Minsk come June 4. I have no other option but to get back up, said Dy, who fell to Kyrgyz powerhouse Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek via second-round corner stoppage in the main event of Brave CF 47: Asian Domination last March.

Replacing Yousufzai is Ryskulbek Ibraimov of Kyrgyzstan, who was initially scheduled to face Kazakhstan’s Asu Almabaev in the same card. BRAVE did not disclose the reason for the fighters’ withdrawal. Ibraimov, who holds an 18-8 record on top of six submissions and three knockouts, rides on a seven-match win streak since April 2019 before taking his act to the Bahrain-based promotion.
