This week s feature album Maybe It ll Be Beautiful is the second release from Melbourne-based violinist, vocalist and composer Emma Kelly under their moniker Happy Axe. Emma is becoming a prolific collaborator lending her beautiful string arrangments to the new Big Scary album, and her voice to the Mindy Meng Wang and Tim Shiel EP. On this album, Emma allicites the support of fellow Melbourne musicians Braille Face, Butternut Sweetheart, Aphir and Arrom, plus the mixing expertise of Tim Shiel. The music of Happy Axe is dream-pop in the truest sense. The roots are deep in the ground, head and shoulders are in the clouds. THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+ After selling out their show on January 31, Ron and Cam play an encore performance on Sunday February 21. It s a matinee show, with doors opening from 2:30pm. Ron S. Peno needs no introduction. As the singer for the legendary Died Pretty as well as with his band The Superstitions, he has a voice which is instantly recognisable, with an unmatched emotive power. Ron has partnered with Superstitions guitarist, Cam Butler, to create a vocal and guitar duo like no other. Playing songs from the three albums by The Superstitions, as well as new material, the duo combine Ron s incredible voice with Cam s masterful rhythmic and melodic guitarscapes to present these songs as semi-improvised explorations; loose and dramatic, always exciting and full of emotion.
