CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) Experts are weighing in on the next steps of the investigation following a gun violence restraining order served to the husband of missing Chula Vista mother Maya Millete.
The order involving Larry Milleteâs weapons was issued May 5, two days before Chula Vista Police served another search warrant at the Millete home.
The order lists 14 firearms with unknown serial numbers, and another nine registered guns, all reportedly owned by Larry Millete ....

Weeks before a Forest Grove police officer allegedly harassed a family on Oct. 31, 2020 over a Black Lives Matter flag on their house, he used a Taser stun gun on a man who later died, Pamplin Media Group has learned.
After finding 44-year-old James Eric Marshall suffering what appeared to be a mental health crisis seemingly trying to kick open the door of an office on the premises of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Forest Grove Police Officer Steven Teets shocked Marshall at least one to three times with a Taser during a struggle early in the morning of Oct. 8, 2020, according to police records. ....

Chauvin trial expert defends Columbus officer in Ma'Khia Bryant death

With the caveat that I only know what is shown on the video, I don t see any clear options or alternatives that were available to the officer, Seth Stoughton told the Dispatch on Thursday.
Some have suggested that a different type of training for officers could lead to a non-lethal outcome in such cases, including de-escalation techniques or the use of a Taser.
But Stoughton said the incident appeared to unfold too quickly for the officer, Nicholas Reardon, to employ anything other than deadly force against the knife-wielding teenager.
