He decided to transfer away from the Wildcat program after a rocky first season that consisted of limited minutes, arguments with the coaching staff, and even a period where the freshman was sent home. Head Coach Leonard Hamilton is all about second chances and maximizing talent out of players who haven’t shined yet in college basketball. This could be the perfect fit for a player that didn’t quite start his college career the way he wanted.

Faith Lutheran Church pastor, Ron Fletcher, to retire after 43 years

By Free Press staff On Sunday, Dec. 27, Pastor Ron Fletcher will preach at Faith Lutheran Church in Kinston for the last time since arriving in August of 1977. He retires after serving at Faith for over 43 years.  Under his leadership, Faith Lutheran Church reached into the community and the region, establishing a Help Fund/Food Pantry ministry and supporting local help groups  like ICOR, Kinston’s Shelter for the Homeless, KARE, SAFE,  and the Association for Congregations.  In Kinston, Ron volunteered as a hospital chaplain and served on various hospital boards for 42 years.  As part of the Southeastern District of LC-MS, Pastor Fletcher served a term as Circuit Visitor involving 13 churches from Durham to the coast.   In 1965 he was vacancy pastor of newly chartered Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Greenville for six months, then Peace Lutheran Church in Goldsboro for fourteen months, then again in Greenville for two years, then again in Goldsboro for three years.
