Four $12,600 headliners for developing younger performers were in the Wednesday (July 14) spotlight at Harrah’s Philadelphia. On the trot, Ethan T Hanover, a sophomore son of Bar Hopping who is a half-brother to double Breeders Crown winner Emoticon Hanover, went wicked fractions of :27.4, :55.4 and 1:24.2, then drew clear of his opposition late for a 3-3/4-length victory in 1:54.2, beating his old mark by three seconds. Lindys Goin Crazy, who battled gamely close behind the winner most of the mile, edged first-over favourite Magical Muscle Man for second behind the winner of $156,673, who was driven by Kasper Foget for trainer Per Engblom and the partnership of Engblom Stable LLC, Douglas Sipple, and Mal & Janet Burroughs LLC. ....
Trainer Dr. Ian Moore has a one-two punch set to fire in the cavalcade of stakes action slated for The Meadowlands on Saturday (July 17). He’s all excited [for the final] – he texted me at about two o’clock in the morning with the draw list,” continued Moore. “We drew pretty decent and he likes our chances, and I guess I do too. ....
The popular $12,600 features for developing younger horses drew four divisions of promising trotters and pacers on a hot Wednesday (June 30) at Harrah’s Philadelphia. Distaff pacers got the card started with a 1:51.4 mile, and at the finish everyone knew that McCarthy had driven the winner – but was it Todd or Andrew? The photo showed it was the Somebeachsomewhere sophomore filly Beach Crazy and Todd McCarthy who rallied up the inside to get a nose advantage over favored Nashville Elgenna and brother Andrew. Beach Crazy lowered her mark a tick for trainer Stacy Chiodo, whose Chiodo Racing LLC co-owns the in-form filly with Jeffery Shore and Robert Barr. ....
