Moberly to open public pool May 29, Memorial Day service planned Moberly Monitor-Index The Moberly Aquatic Center in Rothwell Park is scheduled to open for the first time this 2021 summer season on Saturday, May 29 with the final day set for Aug. 29 according to the Moberly Parks and Recreation Department. Pool hours are from noon – 7 p.m. while allowing a capacity of no more than 450 persons. On July 4, hours are from 12-4 p.m., and starting Aug. 16 the pool is only open on Saturdays and Sundays until the final day. Arrangements can be made through the MPRD to host a private pool party between 8-10 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and weekend nights from 7-10 p.m. MPRD office phone is 269-8705, ext. 2040. ....
Moberly Chamber celebrates award winners during May 1 banquet Submitted by Michelle Greenwell of Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet was held May 1 at the 4th Street Theatre. The fundraising and social event brought an entire new atmosphere was created intended to celebrate members and the ability to gather again after a long year of business struggles. Each year the Chamber honors its members for their achievements and this banquet was no different. Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce President Heather Martin distributed the Chamber awards, and said. “it is always an honor for the Chamber to be able to recognize achievements. After a year of restrictions with little joy to be found it made these awards and recognitions even more special to give.” ....
About 2,200 to receive second coronavirus vaccine dose in Moberly MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ) Around 2,200 people are scheduled to receive their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine Wednesday in Moberly. To receive a shot, individuals had to be included in the state s current vaccination phase, which is up to Phase 1B Tier 2. That group includes people 65 and over and those with certain health conditions. The event is being held at Rothwell Park, where the first vaccination event was held back on Jan. 29. Vaccines will be given out from 9 a.m. until around 6 p.m. People receiving their second dose were asked to bring their vaccination cards and consent form. ....
