Victims of a fraudster, who spent their money funding his extravagant lifestyle, will get about 60 cents back for every dollar stolen from them.

Steven Robertson stole $1.2 million and roughly $AU270,000 between 2009 and 2015 while operating several companies that sold software that purported to help people trade.
The software was not easy to use and when confronted with disgruntled investors Robertson offered to trade on their behalf. ....

An Auckland stock trader has been sentenced to home detention after stealing from investors who had already fallen victim to a high-flying fraudster.
Rodney McCall, also known as Rodney Crichton, appeared today in the Manukau
District Court for a third attempt at sentencing.
He had pleaded guilty in June to two representative charges of obtaining by deception, one representative charge of dishonestly using a document, and two charges of obstruction of the Financial Markets Authority s (FMA) powers under the Financial Markets Authority Act. ....

New Zealand Financial Markets Authority: Victims Of PTT, Steven Robertson And Rodney McCall To Receive Payout - McCall Sentenced To Home Detention

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) has welcomed two court decisions that will see victims of convicted fraudsters Steven Robertson and Rodney McCall receive a portion of their money back. Mr McCall has also been sentenced to 12 months’ home detention for his crimes.
On Friday, the Auckland High Court approved a pro-rata distribution methodology for creditors of PTT Limited, Mr Robertson and his associated entities. The methodology was proposed by the receivers and liquidators of PTT, and supported by the FMA as being in the interests of victims. Receivers and liquidators estimate that victims will be likely to receive around 59 cents in the dollar. ....
