Some Town Meeting members have expressed anger and disappointment that town officials did not fully disclose the financial implications (in the hundreds of thousands of dollars) when they voted on Article 7 - even if they agreed with the merits of revoking the town’s civil-service participation. ....

The investigation will review the events that led to the arrest of Ernest Jean-Jacques during a Trump rally on Dec. 12. On that day, Jean-Jacques who was part of a counter Black Lives Matter contingent was arrested by Swampscott Police, accused of punching 80-year-old Linda Greenberg of Swampscott.
