Directive 067’s purpose, titled Eligibility Requirements for Acquiring and Holding Energy Licences and Approvals, is to ensure that only responsible parties are granted the privilege of holding energy development licences.
The draft changes, which can be viewed at aer.ca, were released on January 13, and require applicants to submit more information, particularly financials, at the time of application and throughout the application’s lifecycle. ....

The bylaw’s underlying purpose is to reduce costs and speed up the approval process of accessory residential buildings.
The bylaw essentially gives residents more freedom to build structures such as storages and tool sheds, and came as a method to achieve red tape reduction, which the Government of Alberta has been pushing for.
