Senthil Raj’s timely assistance to a grievously injured persons in a road accident near here saved their life on Thursday. When he was returning to the Collectorate along the Tiruchendur Highway on Thursday, he asked his driver to stop the car on seeing a crowd looking at someone lying on the road. When he got down from the vehicle, he saw two persons lying on the ground with multiple injuries and bruises, apparently caused in a road accident. Though some of the people in the crowd were videographing the victims, who were under the influence of alcohol, none helped. On seeing the Collector, the crowd gave way for him. ....

The event is observed in all 14 TB units in the district The signature campaign was organised at Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital with the motto ‘Accelerate war against TB’. Children given polio drops Updated: Updated: 1,35,537 kids were immunised in Thoothukudi Share Article THOOTHUKUDI Through 1221 camps, a total of 1,35,537 children in the age group of 0-5 years were administered polio drops here on Sunday. Every year, as per the WHO protocol and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines, the polio vaccine had been administered to children across the country. The two dosages administered over a gap of 15 days, was being given to the children. Apart from the Health department, officials from other government departments, NGOs and service organisations led by the Rotarians were roped in on the mega project. ....
