LUCKNOW: The Ayodhya Ram temple trust is contemplating a global drive to collect donations after the Samarpan Nidhi Abhiyan run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) volunteers concluded on February 27 with a collection of over Rs 2,100 crore.
According to Mahant Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the trust, a lot of requests were pouring in from Ram Bhakts living abroad to launch a global drive for collecting donations.
Giri said that a decision in this connection would be taken by the trust at a meeting of the trustees shortly. “Members will discuss modalities and protocol related to RBI, Finance Ministry, I-T regulations and clearances, to be followed for launching the Samarpan Nidhi Abhiyan globally, said one of the trustees.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The campaign launched by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Rashytriya Swayamsevak Sangh to raise funds for Ram temple construction in Ayodhya will conclude on Sunday, which is February 28.
A sum of Rs 80 crore has been collected from Malwa so far in which people of different caste, class and communities have contributed. A sum of Rs 1.11 crore was donated by business corporate groups. LGBT community has donated about Rs 11,000.
Funds were received from children as well. Some children, specially girls, broke their piggy banks and donated their savings. Vishwa Hindu Parishad office bearer Ravi Kasera said, Rs 80 crore have been received from Malwa region for Ram temple, which is monitored by volunteers. Some cheques were returned due to administrative issues.â

New Delhi: A day after former Karnataka chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy alleged that right-wing groups which were collecting money for a Ram temple in Ayodhya were separately ‘marking’ houses of those who donated and did not donate, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said these claims were ‘factually incorrect’.
On Monday, the Janata Dal (Secular) leader accused the RSS of following the Nazi Party’s actions in Germany.
