SHARING OPTIONS: A significant bounce in powder and butter sales helped reinforce western-based Aurivo’s financial results for 2020. Aurivo’s dairy ingredients business is mainly made up of butter and powder sales. Aurivo produces a lot of enriched powders, which essentially are dried milk with the fat percentage increased with the addition of varying levels of vegetable oil. Aurivo sell this product in Africa, which is a growing market. Once it lands in Africa, the powder is sold in small local stores. Turnover in dairy ingredients jumped from €172m to €198m The African consumer takes the powder home where water is added again. This product is used as a substitute for milk in Africa, where they can’t get ‘normal’ milk as Irish consumers know it. ....

December 14, 2020 9:45 am The Aurivo / Teagasc Joint Programme 2021-2023 has been launched by Raymond Barlow, chairman of Aurivo co-op and Teagasc regional advisory manager, Tom Kellegher. The joint programme aims to improve farm profitability and environmental practices while ensuring that dairy farming is socially sustainable. The programme builds on and is a continuation of the two previous programmes that began in 2014. Speaking at the launch, Raymond Barlow said: “I am delighted to launch Phase 3 of the joint programme between Aurivo and Teagasc. Over the past six years we have worked with 13 other focus farms and over 20 discussion groups through this forum and the fantastic work of our dedicated suppliers. ....
