City of Rayne installs new backup generator for water treatment plant

RAYNE, La. — The City of Rayne has installed a new backup generator to the Rayne Water Plant on Fourth Street as part of a $2.4 million upgrade to the city s infrastructure.
The 400KW, three-phase natural gas generator was delivered to the city back in December and was installed this week.
According to Rayne Mayor Charles Robichaux, this upgrade is the first one received by the Rayne Water Plant in almost 60 years.
The new generator will replace the city s local generator, which ran on diesel and is no longer reliable. ....
