Silver Alert issued for man missing from Lawrence has been canceled

LAWRENCE, Ind.
A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Lawrence man.
Police say 60-year-old Randy Murray was last seen Friday, May 14 around 2 p.m. in Lawrence. He is described as a 5-foot-7-inch white male, weighing 130 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) A statewide Silver Alert was issued Friday night for a man missing from northeastern Marion County.
Randy Murray, 60, was last seen at 2 p.m. Friday in Lawrence. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical help.
Murray was described as 5-feet-7 and 130 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information should call the Lawrence Police Department at 317-545-7575 or 911.

KTW reached out to some other regional districts for their CAOs’ credit card charges. The number of restaurant/coffee shop/food expenses charged by CAOs in various regional districts in 2019:
• Sukh Gill, Thompson-Nicola Regional District: 172 times.
• Robert Lapham, Capital Regional District: 17 times.
• David Sewell, Regional District of North Okanagan: 6 times.
• Carol Mason and Jerry Dobrovolny, Metro Vancouver Regional District: one time.
TNRD board chair Ken Gillis said the board did not know the extent to which spending occurred and has called the amounts “surprising” and “somewhat distressing.”
In a five-year period of total TNRD expenses for meals and accommodations claimed by all employees, 2018 featured the most $92,706. In 2018, TNRD CAO Sukh Gill charged a total of $41,125 on his regional district credit card as a result of visits by himself and others to restaurants, coffee shops, wineries, liquor stores and grocery ....

Greyhound cuts 'erode' rural life

The potential loss of Greyhound service through Monte Creek would be one more tear in the fabric of life in rural B.C., the chairman of the TNRD board said Wednesday.
If Greyhound continues to cut routes outside major centres, then the province needs to allow other transit companies to pick up the slack, said Randy Murray.
There has to be flexibility in carriers if we re starting to see this sort of erosion over and over again, said Murray. We have to have an opportunity to move people somehow.
On June 21, Greyhound notified the Thompson-Nicola Regional District it had filed an application with the B.C. Passenger Transportation Board to cut its stops in Monte Creek. Regional directors were given until July 10 to provide written comments. ....
