For professional competitive eater Randy Santel, the Legends American Grill Monster Burger Challenge was 8 minutes, 58 seconds well spent.
Santel stopped at Legends on South Center Street as part of his tour of midwest eating challenges. He was in Altoona Tuesday to take on Brick and Ivy Rooftop’s Chicago Dog Challenge where he devoured eight fully loaded hot dogs. ....

Man to Tackle the 100-Ounce Gorilla Dumpster Food Challenge


One man. One mission: Eat 100 ounces of food in 60 minutes. It s a challenge most humans would shy away from. But not Randy Santel. He wants to take on the 100 Ounce Gorilla Dumpster Food Challenge at Urban Chislic in Sioux Falls on Monday, May 17.
He seems to have the drive - and the experience. This will be Santel s 984th food challenge and has competed in all 50 states.

According to Urban Chislic s Facebook page, a huge amount of food will be delivered to Santel s table at 6:00 P.M. So what would 100 ounces of food look like? Well, it kind of lives up to its name of the Gorilla Dumpster Challenge . Picture this: The crew at Urban Chislic will wheel out 6 1/4 pounds of beef, lamb, chicken, and pork chislic, poured over kettle chips. A double order of french fries, another double order of cheese curds, and toss in 8 different sauces. ....

Pro eater Randy Santel takes on Urban Chislic's 'Gorilla Dumpster Challenge'

Professional eater Randy Santel came to Sioux Falls to grub down a South Dakota classic, chislic, in an attempt to become the first winner of Urban Chislic s Gorilla Dumpster Challenge.  
Dozens of people and a fan group packed into the southern Sioux Falls restaurant Monday, near Minnesota  Avenue  and 85th Street, to see if Santel would prevail again as an undefeated eater, this time for the uniquely deep-fried meat bites.
The challenge consists of 100 ounces of beef, lamb, chicken and pork chislic, alongside double kettle chips, a double order of cheese curds, a double order of fries and eight sauces  – all to be eaten in under 60 minutes. Only a few teams of more than one person handled the humongous platter.  ....
