Date for Norwich Passion Play is announced Celebrate Norfolk has announced the date for the Norwich Passion Play at Easter 2022 and the chance to see two passion plays online this Easter. Celebrate is co-ordinating a project to bring well-known professional Christian theatre company Saltmine to perform a Passion Play on the streets of Norwich. And the proposed date has just been announced as Easter Saturday, April 16, 2022. Saltmine produced and performed a Passion Play in Birmingham city centre in 2019, which attracted audiences of several thousand people and you can watch that play online right now above and on Saltmine s YouTube channel to get a taste of what will be coming to Norwich next Easter. ....
Norwich Passion Play postponed from Easter 2021 The Passion Play, set to be performed in Norwich city centre on Easter Saturday 2021, has been postponed due to the Covid-19 uncertainty and restrictions, but the team behind it is fully committed to a future date. Celebrate Norfolk is co-ordinating a bid to bring well-known professional Christian theatre company Saltmine to perform a Passion Play in Norwich and some funds towards the costs have already been donated.
But because of the current uncertainty around the Covid-19 pandemic and public health restrictions, an Easter 2021 date is now not considered possible.
