Even before the pandemic hit, comedy show producers were among the real workhorses of the live entertainment industry. Take for example San Francisco comedian Lisa Geduldig, whose annual Kung Pao Kosher comedy show is set to celebrate its 29th year in 2021. She has kept the humor flowing all year long with a virtual pivot to monthly “Lockdown Comedy broadcasts (the next one set for Thursday, April 15) live from Florida, where she’s been spending quarantine with her mother, and featuring other guest comedians.

Contra Costa County is getting hit with a lawsuit as businesses angry over the new shut down order fight back.
“I’m feeling very stressed. It s beyond depressing at this point,” said Retro Junkie owner Enrique Montero. “It’s beyond a roller coaster ride, it’s like the twilight zone.”
Montero says shutting down his outdoor seating area has left him unable to generate an income. While he won’t violate the shutdown order, he’s not sitting back.
“We just feel we can’t sit around and have our livelihoods taken away without a fight,” said Montero.
For California counties under the state s new regional stay-at-home order, outdoor dining is now banned. But some are asking why? Is it really a risk factor for COVID-19? Dr. Rutherford explains the ban on eating outdoors is appropriate.
Unlike in LA, if he were to get a judge to agree, it could have an immediate impact on outdoor dining Contra Costa County, as no state regulations currently prohibit it. As of Tuesday, the Bay Area region had a 24.5% ICU capacity.
Other restaurants and bars have been reaching out in support, he said, including Enrique Montero who runs Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek.
