(Nathan Strueby/Submitted) The Regina Rebels need help in their quest for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup. Wednesday is the final day of voting as the peewee B team tries to advance to the final three. Coach Nathan Strueby joined the Greg Morgan Morning Show to ask the public for help as the Rebels look to achieve their goal. “We’re in the top 11 right now and I’m hoping a lot of people out there remember from last year we got to the top three and just fell a little short,” said Strueby. The Rebels made it to the top three last year but lost to the Northeast Eagles, a peewee C team from Torbay, N.L. ....

The Peewee B Rebels team has made it to the final 11 entries looking to be crowned the next Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup winner. The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup is awarded annually to a Canadian minor hockey team which “do good by transforming the positive values learned through hockey into good deeds within their communities.” “We’d like to, if possible, continue the work with the Super HEROS,” coach Nathan Strueby said. “To see the Super HEROS program in pretty much all the major centres in Canada.” ....
“We held a virtual watch party on Zoom and everybody nearly hit the ceiling when they saw our team’s name come up on the screen,” said co-coach Matt Belanger. The Good Deeds Cup goes annually to the Canadian youth hockey team which does the most to give back to their community. “We made kindness a focus for our team this season,” said Belanger, taking note of the message from the B.C. health officer. Team members saw a broadcast advertisement for the Good Deeds Cup during the 2021 world junior championship and Admirals manager and treasurer Anna Warhurst spearheaded the effort. ....
