Swindon man , 19, caught dealing cannabis is given custody

A TEENAGER returned to dealing cannabis after losing his warehouse job during lockdown, a court heard. Kurtis Knee, 19, was caught with more than £750-worth of cannabis in his rucksack and £610 cash by plain clothes police officers who caught him by Shaftesbury Lake, Park South, on August 13 last year. When they went to his home, officers found drugs paraphernalia including foreign-branded cannabis bags in a bedside drawer and more cannabis. The youngster, who was sentenced for cannabis dealing in 2019 while still a youth, also had a burner phone used to deal the class B drug. There were pictures saved on his devices of eight-ounce cannabis deals and a photograph of somebody holding a large amount of cash.

Second chance for defendant who missed probation letter

File images of Swindon Crown Court and postbox Pictures: ADVER/DAVE COX A MAN has been given another chance to obtain a pre-sentence report – after he failed to get the letter from the probation service in time. Manjit Multani, 41, of Bailbrook Lane, Bath, had been expected to be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Friday for assault causing actual bodily harm and witness intimidation in Trowbridge. The offences date back to 2018 and 2019. But Alex Daymond, defending, asked Recorder Roger Harris to consider adjourning the case for a further opportunity for his client to be interviewed by the probation service for a pre-sentence report.
