Bucks County real estate: A seller s market on steroids
The question is, can this boom last or is a bust in the offing? It is definitely a seller s market on steroids, said Joy Zwicker, manager of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach Realtors Southampton office. The actual cost is so difficult in this market to come up with because the sale price and the actual end price is growing further and further apart. Low inventory and lower interest rates means people can buy more house, even though they are paying more. They are paying more, but getting even more house.
In late December, 35% of suburban homes sold above list price in the Northeast, according to Zillow economists.
All grants focus on life-sustaining and essential human services.
United Way of Bucks County has awarded 11 new grants totaling almost $44,000, through their most recent grant cycle on Dec. 7. This represents the most grants awarded during a single grant period, officials said.
Recent grant recipients include: Lifespan Childcare Center, TLC Child Care Center, NAMI Bucks County, Lenape Valley Foundation, Catholic Social Services, Livengrin Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County, YMCA of Bucks County, Family Service Association of Bucks County, One House at a Time, and Ivins Outreach Center.
Funds awarded this grant cycle will support the purchase of sanitizing equipment, cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, additional support staffing, data for telehealth appointments for clients, bed frames, mattresses, and bedding for children in Bucks County, and meals and groceries for people who are unable to shop safely on their own.

To show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of front-line workers, members of the Bucks County Association of Realtors recently delivered 150 restaurant-prepared meals to emergency room departments of three area hospitals St. Luke’s Hospital in Milford, St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown, and Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown Township.
The funding for the meals was made possible by a Century of Service grant from the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors.
Jessica Finnell and Susan Langenstein, co-chairs of the Bucks County Association of Realtors Reach Out Committee, suggested the gesture to express appreciation. “This was the perfect opportunity to support our front-line workers and support local restaurants in our communities,” Finnell said. “This one event will essentially help two groups of professionals in our community.”
