JOHN MALLARO John (“Jack, “Babe”) Kent Mallaro, 81, of Fort Dodge, died on January 26, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born November 10, 1939 in Buhl, Minnesota to Carl and Lois (Dawson) Mallaro, the youngest of three children. His family relocated to Fort Dodge when he was seven. Babe graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1957. He attended Fort Dodge Junior College, where he played football and baseball, then earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Mankato State College in Minnesota and a master’s degree from St. Louis University. After teaching high school math in Adel-DeSoto, he returned to Fort Dodge. He spent his career working at Iowa Central Community College, and in subsequent years worked as a graphic designer.

Norma was born on April 23, 1936, in Pennington, New Jersey. She graduated from Hopewell Valley High School and attended Trenton State College. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond R. Wagner, on October 1, 1955. They built a home together in Pennington and raised their children there. Norma lost her husband, Raymond, tragically in 1988. Several years later she met her second love, Fred G. Rasweiler. Norma always enjoyed a warm climate, and in 1994 she and Fred relocated to Gulf Breeze, Florida. For the next twenty-six years, her family and grandchildren enjoyed visits with “Nana by the beach.”
