Date Time Changes to parking fees come into effect across Toowoomba CBD Parking fees and charges have increased by 10 cents per hour to a maximum additional charge of 50 cents per day in locations across Toowoomba’s CBD. The changes came into effect Monday, 5 July and apply to both on and off-street parking across the city, except for Central Carpark which will remain at $1 per hour. In addition to this, fees for old, single head parking meters will remain at the current price of $1.80 per hour. Parking fees and charges for old single head meter parking bays will not increase until new pay and display parking machines are installed at these locations and programmed with the new fees and charges as part of Council’s progressive roll out of new parking technology across Toowoomba’s CBD. ....
Date Time Rare Squid Creative inks deal to open second Creative CBD Toowoomba space A multimedia, design and marketing agency has seized an opportunity to open a new office and gallery space this month thanks to the assistance of Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) Creative CBD Toowoomba program. TRC Planning and Development Committee chair Cr Megan O’Hara Sullivan said Rare Squid Creative today (May 13) launched a new venture with photographer Theresa Hall in the former Toowoomba GPO. The partnership’s first gallery exhibition will open at 6pm on Friday, May 21 at Suite 3, 138-140 Margaret Street, Toowoomba. Cr O’Hara Sullivan said the joint venture was the second tenancy in Council’s Creative Toowoomba CBD project following the opening of the pop-up Alexandra Lawson Gallery in Ruthven Street in late 2020. The overall project is the first of its kind in Queensland. ....
Date Time Police car rammed, South Toowoomba Darling Downs detectives have charged a man after a police car was rammed in South Toowoomba this morning. Police were called to a motel on Ruthven Street just after 6am in response to a disturbance. Officers arrived to find a stolen grey Mercedes-Benz GLA250 in the driveway. Attending police attempted to intercept the vehicle on foot, before it rammed their marked police car, causing panel damage to both vehicles. A male police officer was struck by the vehicle as the driver attempted to leave the area. He attended Toowoomba Hospital for treatment of leg injuries. ....
