Bond was set Saturday for a woman charged in connection to the drowning death of a 4-year-old at a Myrtle Beach hotel. According to Master Cpl. Tom Vest with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, a judge granted a $10,000 surety bond to 30-year-old Destiny Morgan.Morgan was arrested and charged with unlawful neglect of a child following a drowning at the Crown Reef Resort on Thursday night.Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the child, later identified as 4-year-old Demi Williams, was taken to the hospital after being removed from the resort s pool.She was pronou ....

Philippines Discovers Fresh Illegal Chinese Structures on Its Reefs

The Philippine military has discovered new structures “illegally” built by China on some of its reefs in the South China Sea, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on April 1.
The AFP conducted a maritime patrol off of the Philippines’ Pagkakaisa Banks on March 30 and discovered newly-built Chinese structures on some area reefs.
“During this patrol, we were able to document man-made structures that were built on some of the features. These structures are illegal,” AFP chief-of-staff Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana said in a statement on Thursday.
I’ve flown over some of the artificial islands of China when they were still being built. So see them now, completed, is both chilling and sobering. ....
