Forest Linked With Boateng Sunday, 10th Jul 2011 09:51 Former Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng, who spent the latter stages of the week training with the Blues, is a target of his one-time Boro boss Steve McClaren and Nottingham Forest, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. On Thursday TWTD revealed that the 35-year-old ex-Feyenoord, Coventry, Hull City and Aston Villa man had joined Town for their pre-season preparations. We understand that Boateng, a free agent having left Greek side Skoda Xanthi at the end of 2010/11, has arranged similar spells training with a number of sides as he looks for a new club for the season ahead. ....
Ellington to Return From Scunthorpe Monday, 7th Jan 2013 17:22 Scunthorpe United will not be extending Nathan Ellington’s loan having signed free agent Akpo Sodje until the end of the season. Manager Brian Laws said: Now that we have Akpo in there we have no finances to maintain Nathan Ellington being here. “He has been hit and miss and it has been a bit of a stop-start scenario. We cannot afford to carry on like that.” Ellington’s spell was up after Saturday’s 0-0 home draw with Shrewsbury, which was only the 31-year-old s second start since he moved to the League One club in November, a calf problem having hampered his time in Lincolnshire. ....

It was conceding the goal which irked the Blues boss the most: “I think we did have a bit of a chance. I think we gave a good account of ourselves. “We’ll never know what we would have done in the second half if we’d have kept it to 1-0. We let them off the hook by giving a goal away after 45 seconds.” ....
Ebanks-Blake Plays Down Town Links Monday, 31st Dec 2012 09:33 Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has dismissed suggestions that he might be reunited with his former boss Mick McCarthy at Portman Road during the January transfer window. The 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has repeatedly been linked with the Blues, along with his team-mates Ronald Zubar and Richard Stearman. Ebanks-Blake told the Birmingham Mail: “I suppose because I worked with Mick McCarthy here, someone was bound to link me with Ipswich. And I was with Ian Holloway at Plymouth, so that’s probably why there has been a mention of Palace as well. ....
