Poole oncology dietitian Alex Capon bags marathon place

Alex Capon, oncology dietitian at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and based in Poole, is running in the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 29-year-old was due to run in the 2020 event, which was cancelled due to the pandemic and has already raised £2,650 through bakes sales, a quiz night and raffles.
Alex said:“From a young age I remember cancer taking loved ones too early, putting lives on hold and requiring gruelling treatment. I also remember how supportive Macmillan were, including when my nan had cancer 10 years ago,
“I’ve seen first-hand the support Macmillan gives to people with cancer. In my current role I can signpost patients to their information as well as their emotional, financial and physical support, whatever type of cancer they have. As last year’s event was cancelled, I’m really looking forward to running this year.” ....
