Factor41/iStock(NEW YORK) Gear up, NASCAR fans. The sport's elite division will look a lot different in 2022. NASCAR will unveil the "Next Gen" Cup Series race car in Charlotte, North Carolina Wednesday afternoon. Built from the "ground up," the new car looks sleeker and more coupe-like, with a lower roofline and a shorter rear deck. A redesigned, carbon composite body sits on top of the tubular chassis, allowing drivers to better withstand direct hits. The front and rear bumpers have also been modified, tire diameter has increased to 18 inches from 15 and a 5-speed transaxle combines the transmission and rear gears into one package. But the biggest change may be the car's independent rear suspension a first for NASCAR. "We're building this new car because we want a sport that is healthy and strong and remains attractive to our current OEM (original equipment manufacturer) teams and fans," NASCAR senior vice president of racing innovatio ....

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - With eased restrictions in place for graduation ceremonies, many local school systems are announcing how they plan to celebrate the class of 2021, in all cases, outdoors.
These plans come after Governor Ralph Northam announced on March 17 schools can hold in-door ceremonies as long as there or no more than 500 people or 30% capacity, whichever is less. Ceremonies can be held outdoors with up to 5,000 people or 30% capacity, whichever is less. ....

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - According to the Virginia Vaccine Coordinator, there is enough supply available to vaccinate as many people as possible, but the demand is dropping significantly.
More than 30% of the Commonwealth is fully vaccinated, per data released Friday.
However, a drop in registrations has left local health district revising their ways of getting shots into arms.
On Thursday, Richmond & Henrico Health District spokeswoman Cat Long said the supply and demand for a COVID-19 vaccine were starting to even out. It is why on Friday the clinic at the Richmond Raceway opened to walk-ups. ....

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - The first small vaccination hub in Henrico County’s west end opened Thursday, bringing in dozens of people for their COVID-19 vaccines.
This vaccination event at the Islamic Center of Henrico is not the first vaccination hub in the Richmond/Henrico area, but it is all part of the health district’s plan to create more pop-up locations in local communities.
Mass vaccination events will continue at the Richmond Raceway for a period of time, but the health district is now focused on bringing these vaccines to you in your community. ....
