A Richmond hair salon says it is at ‘breaking point’ following staff shortages – and is looking for new recruits. David Masters, who owns two hair salons in Richmond Bridge and St Margarets, said the current recruitment crisis in the hair industry could leave residents struggling to get a hair appointment. He said the combined effects of Brexit, Covid and the ‘pingdemic’ are causing major problems in the industry. NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance says 21 homes or businesses will be acquired as a result of the new $500 million Richmond Bridge project.
The federal government announced on Monday it will pledge $400 million towards the $500 million project which will cut 12 minutes off travel times for commuters, ensuring the safety of residents in Sydney’s west.
“We have a combination of partial acquisitions and full acquisitions,” Mr Constance said.
“One of the challenges is when we make major infrastructure investments like this we have to do it in a timely and concurrent way because we have seen, and we don’t want to see gaming particular amongst developers across the city with such a large infrastructure program.
“If I had a way in which in which we weren’t able to disrupt people’s lives to build major infrastructure for everybody I’d love to do it.
