Longtime East Idaho couple dies of COVID-19 five days apart

Idaho husband, wife of over 48 years die from coronavirus within 5 days

REXBURG, Idaho An Idaho couple that had been married for over 48 years died from the coronavirus within five days of each other earlier this month. 
Debbie Morgan died on Dec. 15 while her husband, Craig Morgan, passed away on Dec. 20. 
Doctors had diagnosed Craig Morgan with the coronavirus on Dec. 11 and admitted him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on the same day his wife died. 
Debbie Morgan had spent the last two years residing at an assisted living center while being treated for multiple sclerosis. She had contracted the coronavirus in November. 
Craig and Debbie had met at the formerly-named Ricks College in 1971 and married the following year. ....

REXBURG, Idaho (AP) An Idaho couple that had been married for over 48 years died from the coronavirus within five days of each other earlier this month.
Debbie Morgan died on Dec. 15 while her husband, Craig Morgan, passed away on Dec. 20.
“They’re happy being back together,” said their daughter Kelly Romine.
Doctors had diagnosed Craig Morgan with the coronavirus on Dec. 11 and admitted him to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on the same day his wife died. Debbie Morgan had spent the last two years residing at an assisted living center while being treated for multiple sclerosis. Original 1935 history book by Samuel Beal available at Museum


In 1935, Arthur Porter, former newspaper publisher, educator, and Mayor of Rexburg, printed a book authored by Samuel M. Beal entitled “The Snake River Fork Country, A brief history of peaceful conquest in the Upper Snake River Basin.”
Mr. Beal was an historian and professor at Ricks College, now BYU Idaho. His book contains chapters on the beginnings of the Upper Snake River Valley, its frontiersman, and LDS colonizers. Also, chapters on early transportation and communication, the Rexburg Stake of Zion, and social and economic developments. It includes a bibliography and an appendix roster of the Bannock Ward pioneers, Madison County executive officers, and former mayors of Rexburg. Also included are stake leaders, school trustees, and leaders of both Rexburg and the Village of Sugar City in the period following Rexburg’s founding in 1883. ....
