Carver solar zoning amendments are proposed for uniformity

CARVER – When the town’s zoning bylaw was amended to allow for dual use solar arrays two years ago, the amendment had different reduced setback allowances for conventional and dual use arrays.
The different requirements caused confusion among applicants and residents as to which requirements applied. The Zoning Bylaw Study Committee proposes a new amendment to make the setback requirements the same.
The Planning Board has encountered some proposals for solar projects that may be well suited for the location being proposed, except that a property lacks frontage on a road, and supports all three solar amendments proposed for Town Meeting April 13, with near unanimous support. ....

Carver, SEMASS reach new five-year agreement

CARVER – Officials have signed off on a new agreement for trash removal from Carver to the SEMASS energy-from-waste facility in West Wareham.
The new Municipal Solid Waste Disposal agreement finalizes financial terms for the delivery of waste from Carver to the SEMASS resource recovery facility on Route 28.
The five-year agreement establishes an acceptance fee of $77.65 per ton this year, $79.59 per ton in the 2022 calendar year, $81.58 per ton in the 2023 calendar year, $83.62 per ton in the 2024 calendar year and $85.71 per ton in the fifth year.
SEMASS will invoice Carver on a monthly basis based on the total tonnage of acceptable waste delivered by or on behalf of Carver to West Wareham, or as an alternative, a waste facility in Braintree. ....
