Church Brothers adds to sales team and promotes staff Church Brothers Farms made additions to its sales team and promoted existing staff as part of a plan to grow the company’s retail and foodservice sales programs. Bob Licker joined Church Brothers Farms to support foodservice sales with more than 44 years of experience in the industry. He was most recently at Mann Packing as the Northeast regional manager for foodservice. Prior to that, he was at US Foods as a specialist and then regional category manager for the Northeast region. The company also added Andy Abbott and Shayne Gordon as contract sales managers. Their focus is on managing the company’s broker network and building retail value added programs across the United States. ....

The new patent pending four-count clamshell is designed to protect the unique properties of the compact-sized lettuce while providing more product visibility on shelf. The package is stackable for multiple retail merchandising options and is 100 percent recyclable with more than 70 percent post-consumer material. Shoppers can easily open and reclose the clamshell for convenient use and storage at home. Church Brothers Farms utilizes a special variety of Little Gems and each head is hand trimmed to deliver the most tender and sweet lettuce. Little Gems are a cross between the crunchy texture of Romaine and the softer frilly texture of butter lettuce. The sweet and mild flavor can be used in a wide variety dishes, especially those with bold ingredients and flavors. ....
New lettuce pack for foodservice customers Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Church Brothers Farms is offering foodservice customers a new premium pack of Little Gem lettuce under the SweetHearts brand. Little Gem lettuce is a cross between Romaine and butter lettuce with a crisp texture and sweet, mild flavor. Church Brothers says their small size and colors provide an upscale appearance when plated. The leafy green can be used for loose-leaf salads or grilling but can also serve as vehicles for tapas or shareable bites. Because they are sweeter in flavor, Little Gems serve as a base for bold flavors and ingredients. ....
Jennifer Wagner Sanchez has joined Church Brothers Farms as director of marketing. Sanchez has more than 20 years of experience in the fresh produce industry in marketing, sales and category management roles. She was most recently at Driscoll’s as director of retail sales. Before that, she was vice-president of marketing and category management at Green Giant Fresh. At Church Brothers Farms, Sanchez’ responsibilities will include directing brand management, communications and messaging, event management, new product launches and the design and development of collateral for the company’s retail and foodservice business. “We are excited to have the leadership and experience that Jennifer adds to our marketing team,” said Rick Russo, senior vice-president of sales and marketing. “As we continue to grow into retail, we are charging her with generating marketing plans that will create success for our customers and align with our overall sales objectives.” ....
