Adventist Health/Rideout received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, it was announced in a news release. Yuba-Sutterâs only hospital facility will begin administering the vaccine to frontline health care workers as soon as today. The vaccine shipment included 975 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will initially be stored at Adventist Health/Rideout in the shipping container with dry ice and in an ultra-cold freezer to meet the cold storage requirement. Vaccinations will be delivered in phases in accordance with state and local public health guidelines, according to the news release. The first to be vaccinated will be health care workers at hospitals and the most vulnerable patients in long-term care facilities. ....

Local hospital patients can now receive in-patient care in their homes, according to a news release from Adventist Health/Rideout. The local hospital has joined other Adventist Health hospitals in doing so â âAdventist Health Hospital @ Home (AHHH), will be open to Yuba-Sutter patients beginning today. The program includes supervision by doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and other professionals in person or via telemedicine. âOnce a patient is accepted in the program the AHHH team will set up a temporary hospital room in a patientâs home with the latest hospital technology and supplies,â according to the news release. âThis expansion comes at a critical time when COVID-19 cases have surged and patients affected by chronic illnesses are welcoming an alternative to being admitted to a hospital,â said Rick Rawson, Adventist/Rideout president. âWe have had to think and work outside the normal healthcare parameters to offer ....
