Early voting numbers in Spring Hill election slow to start in first week

As of Tuesday morning, only 851 have voted, or about 3.8%
In 2017, the numbers reflected a voter turnout of only 7.72%. The numbers were even lower two years later, with 2019 s election drawing just 5.67%.
Maury County Election Commission Administrator Todd Baxter said local elections, especially with the numbers reflected over the years, have historically shown low voter turnouts. He believes this could stem from citizens likely not engaging enough in city issues, or they might not consider local elections to be as important as the national and state elections.
It seems to be a typical city election. For some reason, people just don t seem to care much about the local elections, Baxter said.  ....

Two new Spring Hill sidewalk projects identified for 2021-2022

The Daily Herald
At least two new projects could be added to the Spring Hill Neighborhood Sidewalk and Greenway Plan as part of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen s upcoming 2021-2022 fiscal budget.
Spring Hill Senior Project Manager Missy Stahl presented the proposed projects on Monday during BOMA s non-voting work session. The projects include pathways to be installed at the Winter Park and Spring Meadow subdivisions, which would cost approximately $158,900.
The projects are also staff-identified items, meaning the funding wouldn t require any additional revenue spending from the neighborhoods Home Owners Association. Although the final numbers slightly exceed the city s $150,000 sidewalk project budget, Stahl said the city s Transportation Advisory Committee recommends it be increased to cover the full $158,900 amount. ....
