Perhaps that’s because of the crowds that, prior to the pandemic, packed the site for the national acts that performed there. When Sullivan King, Ghastly and Shiba San appeared at the venue over three nights, headlining a series of EDM shows produced by Relentless Beats, COVID-19 safety protocols restricted the number of fans that could be present. Those lucky enough to score a ticket had to stay within widely-separated 8ft x 8ft pods. ....

Jimmy Eat World is Releasing a Graphic Novel Local power-pop act Jimmy Eat World is expanding to the sequential art world. Next month, the band will release a graphic novel entitled 555, which is based on the 2019 song of the same name. Written by Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins and comic book artist Alex Paknadel, the science fiction-inspired story will tell the tale of a character named Klaarg, who “works for an evil galactic empire as an overseer of a cloned workforce and ends up battling with his own values as his purpose in the universe becomes threatened. ....

Relentless Beats is back in action with its first pod concerts of the new year rolling into a socially distanced Rawhide Event Center for a three-day Valentine s weekend experience called Heartbreakers. These are the first Relentless Beats events since they tested the pod-concert waters with a five-week series that ended the first weekend of November. Thomas Turner, Relentless Beats founder, says, We ve just been so stop and go with these numbers that I ve held out until now to do anything. There s really nothing stopping me other than just my own cognizance of what s been going on. Heartbreakers will kick off Friday, Feb. 12, with sets by Sullivan King, Kai Wachi and Trivecta. Saturday brings Ghastly, Ookay, and Lick while Sunday s entertainment, billed as Lovemakers, brings Shiba San, Dombresky, Sacha Robotti and J. Worra. ....
