Meth addict jailed for stabbing dog and threatening his own mother

He told her that she did not care for the dog, and was going to stab it before stabbing her.
Despite his mother s protests he grabbed a knife from the bench, and as the dog hid under the computer desk McVicar stabbed it once in the neck.

The dog was described as being highly distressed and was bleeding profusely, requiring treatment.

A man who stabbed his mother s dog in the neck, then threatened to do the same to her, has been jailed for 16 months.
John Royce McVicar, 38, told police after the bloody incident on July 30 last year that he wasn t in a very good state of mind .
