2 shot, 1 stabbed during Easter celebrations in East Austin, police say
Two people were shot and one was stabbed in an East Austin park Sunday night during what appeared to be Easter-related festivities, Austin police said.
Police responded before 8 p.m. to the 1600 block of Nash Hernandez Senior Road, which is along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail and near Edward Rendon Park.
Police were told a person was actively shooting into a group of people and between 10 and 15 gunshots had been fired. Several parties and picnics were happening at the time.
When officers arrived, the suspected shooter had left the area in a vehicle, police said. ....
