National May 26, 2021 LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday framed charges against the accused in supplementary reference in Gujrat police funds embezzlement case. The court indicted the accused and summoned them till June 17 to start regular trial proceedings. In the case, the NAB had probed four former DPOs of Gujrat; SP Kamran Mumtaz, SSP Rai Ijaz, SSP Sohail Zafar Chattha and Rai Zameer. According to the NAB claims, all four former DPOs during their tenure in Gujrat had embezzled billions under different heads of procurement, including petrol, uniforms, martyr funds, fake vouchers, pensions and âghostâ employments. ....

Rai Zameer didn’t join the court proceedings despite repeated court orders after which proclamation proceeding were started against him. In this case, the NAB had probed four former DPOs of Gujrat, including SP Kamran Mumtaz, SSP Rai Ijaz, SSP Sohail Zafar Chattha and Rai Zameer. National February 22, 2021 KASUR: A woman and her three-year-old child died when the roof of their house collapsed near Phool Nagar on Sunday. Reportedly, Parveen, wife of Liaqat, and her three-year-old son Rehan were sleeping in their house when suddenly roof of the house collapsed. As a result, both buried under the rubble and died on the spot. THREE INJURED DURING CROSSFIRE: Three persons were injured during crossfire between two groups near Shadab City Housing Colony, Allahabad, on Sunday. Reportedly, there was a land dispute between Rai Ijaz and Asif groups. On the day of the incident, both groups exchanged fire over the issue. As a result, Rai Ijaz, Asif and another man sustained injuries. ....
National January 23, 2021 LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday filed a supplementary reference in Gujrat police funds embezzlement case before an accountability court. The court, after receiving the supplementary reference, has summoned the accused on February 4. In this case, the NAB had probed four former DPOs of Gujrat including SP Kamran Mumtaz, SSP Rai Ijaz, SSP Sohail Zafar Chattha and Rai Zameer. As per NAB claims, all four former DPOs during their tenure in Gujrat had embezzled billions under different heads of procurement, including petrol, uniforms, martyr funds, fake vouchers, pensions and alleged ghost employments. It is pertinent to mention that top police officials, including Rai Ejaz and Kamran Mumtaz, were arrested by the NAB. Later, both of them had secured bails from the Lahore High Court.
