THE BUZZ MAGA MANIA: As the Republican Party nationally wrestles with its allegiance to Donald Trump, California Rep. Devin Nunes gathered thousands in Tulare Saturday at a “Freedom Fest” that waved the #MAGA flag. He offered full-throated support to the former president and drew a pair of high-profile California Republicans whose very political survival may depend on their ability to appeal across the aisle.

Conservative radio personality Ray Appleton announced Trump Jr. as the keynote speaker on his KMJ Now show Friday. He said Trump Jr. son of former President Donald Trump will join the event via Zoom due to security issues.
Trump Jr. has reportedly emerged as an unofficial top adviser to his father as the eldest Trump mulls a 2024 presidential bid.
It won t be the first time a member of the Trump family has participated in a Tulare event.
In August 2016, then-candidate Trump held a private lunch and VIP meeting at a Tulare residence. He went on to carry Tulare County by 12 percentage points in 2016 and 8 percentage points in 2020.

Tulare Congressman Devin Nunes will host a blockbuster private fundraising event on Saturday morning featuring prominent Republicans from across the San Joaquin Valley and nation.
The event, dubbed the Freedom Fest, will kick off at 10 a.m. at the International Agri-Center just outside Tulare, according to an itinerary viewed by the Times-Delta. More than 1,700 people are expected to attend the sold-out fundraiser.
Conservative radio personality Ray Appleton will serve as the master of ceremonies, he confirmed on his KMJ Now show Thursday. Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux is expected to open the program with a prayer.

May 3 Paul Evert, who created an empire of self-named RV dealerships in Fresno, died on Sunday.
He was 91 years old.
Evert retired from business in 2018 and in the past few years split his time between Fresno and a home in Shaver Lake. His wife, Sherri Evert, shared the news of his death on Facebook with a photo and simple caption.
In the picture, Evert looks happy and relaxed, smiling for the camera.
The caption reads, March 1, 1930-May 2, 2021.
