ROCHESTER Rochester Community Schools will soon vacate its historic administration building at 501. W. University Drive in downtown Rochester.
RCS Superintendent Robert Shaner said the current 90,000-square-foot building is in disrepair.
“It doesn’t take one much to walk around this building and see the condition that it’s in,” Shaner said.
A rich history
The current RCS administration building consists of three individual schools that were connected over the years to form one complex. ROCHESTER, Mich. – Rochester Community Schools and its school board president are already named in a federal lawsuit accusing them of costing a parent her job because she criticized board policies on a return to face-to-face instruction.
The district denies the allegations in that lawsuit. Since Local 4’s report on Monday, other parents have reached out detailing their experiences with the board and administration.

A lawsuit alleges the Rochester, Michigan, school board president got a parent fired from her job after she complained about the district not reopening to fulltime in-person instruction.
WDIV described Elena Dinverno as “a mother of two and was vocal online about her desire to see her children return to face-to-face instruction” at Rochester Community Schools (RCS).
The suit, filed Monday in United States District Court Eastern District of Michigan, claims board president Kristin Bull, an editor and director of program content for Crain’s Detroit Business, was unhappy that Dinverno was a member of two Facebook groups, “RCS Parents for In-Person Education” and “Conservative Parents for Rochester.”

A woman claims that the Rochester school board called her employer after she posted comments about remote learning on social media.
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Rochester Community School mom is suing the school district, board president, and superintendent after she says the board retaliated against her for vocalizing her opposition of the district s remote-learning efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the lawsuit filed by Elena Dinverno, the school board president and superintendent contacted her employer after she posted her thoughts about the plans on Facebook group pages which ultimately led to her termination.
