Aspen Brewing Announces Acquisition of Capitol Creek Brewing Co.
High Country Brewing, parent company of Aspen Brewing Company, to acquire Capitol Creek Brewery in Basalt, Colorado later this month. The owner of Aspen Brewing Co. is now wading into Willits Town Center in Basalt, where it plans to finalize its purchase of Capitol Creek Brewing Co. later this month.
High Country Brewing LLC is the name of the newly formed ownership group that’s an offshoot of Legacy Breweries, which in the fall acquired Aspen Brewing Co. after having reached a purchase agreement nearly one year earlier in October 2019.
Both acquisitions, for undisclosed amounts, include the breweries’ commercial leases, inventory, brand and label, equipment and other assets.
High Country Brewing CEO Don Bryant, who lives in Evergreen and was visiting the Capitol Creek Brewing site on Tuesday, said the breweries in Aspen and Willits will continue to produce beer under the same labels. Aspen makes about 6,000 barrels a year and Castle Creek roughly 500 to 600, Bryant said.

Wagner wins easily at Dale Hollow

Adam Wagner brought a five-bass limit to the scale Friday weighing 16-10 ounces to win the three-day Dale Hollow Lake Central Toyota Series in Byrdstown, Tenn. Wagners three-day total of 53-11 earned him the victory by a whopping 10-12 margin over 2nd-place angler Brandon Cline garnered him the top payout of $86,575, including the $35,000 Phoenix MLF BIG5 contingency award.
It was pretty awesome being able to lead wire-to-wire, Wagner said of his most recent of 16 career wins in MLF competition four on Dale Hollow. My win last year [on Dale Hollow Lake] was really awesome, too. That was one of my favorite wins because of the way I found them and the comeback, but this one is pretty special, too.
